The Surgical Education Center Tampere (Finland) hosted a very successful BIRG cadaver dissection course on November 02nd, 2018 focussing on the topics of PIP joint arthroplasty, patient-specific reconstruction of the radius and forearm as well as ulna shortening.

This exclusive BIRG teaching event featuring a limited attendance of max. 16 participants was completely booked out at a very early stage. The international faculty gave scientifically profound theoretical information and provided valuable clues during the practical exercises on the cadavers. The course was chaired by Stephan Schindele (Schulthess Klinik Zurich, Switzerland) who offered interesting insights based on his long-term experience to all attendees.

The local speakers Margit Karelson and Antti Launonen (both from University Hospital Tampere, Finland) rounded the high-calibre program with their expertise. Especially the lectures on the innovative technologies such as customized radius and forearm reconstruction as well as the practical exercises on the cadavers were considered the highlights of the event.
