Under the title "All around complex fracture treatment and joint replacement in hand surgery" we invited to the BIRG Cadaveric Workshop in Tuttlingen, Germany. We were very pleased to welcome a total of 33 participants from 8 different countries as well as renowned hand surgeons!
On each of the three intensive days, the focus was on the challenging treatment of complex fractures as well as modern strategies for joint replacement in hand surgery.
Under the close supervision of a professional team of experts, the participants developed an in-depth understanding of surgical approaches, biomechanical relationships and reconstructive techniques in theory and practice.
A special highlight were the practical exercises on human specimens: the realistic training courses included the treatment of distal radius fractures, injuries to the metacarpal and phalanges, as well as techniques such as ulna shortening, PIP arthroplasty and ulnar head replacement.
Exciting case presentations, lively discussions and the excellent infrastructure of the KLS Martin WORLD rounded off the course perfectly. A convivial get-together dinner also offered space for personal exchange and networking.
A thoroughly successful workshop that left a lasting impression on all participants and sparked enthusiasm for more!
We would like to thank everyone who contributed to the success of this course with great commitment and passion - it was a pleasure! We hope you felt the same way.
